Children will learn to safely use a knife as a tool to build fire from wild materials. They will make their own fire starting kits and tinder bundles, practice the art of striking matches, and cook over a fire that they built. Each child will go home with their very own bow drill fire kit at the end of the week.

Fire Gods and Goddesses: Flint & Steel is a more in-depth dive into the art of creating fire. Children will learn the art of building fire with a single match, knife and wood. In addition, we will also teach fire creation with using flint and steel. Each child will go home with their very own fire starter kit, including a flint and steel tool. As part of the learning process, children will also become knife safety certified.
This camp is open to all skill levels, and no prior fire-building experience is necessary.

Outdoor Adventures is a weekly after school program designed to give children an opportunity to explore, play and learn wilderness skills in an urban setting.
With a strong focus on outdoor skills such as fire building and the art of using a knife as a tool, children will gain confidence in themselves and learn to build community while learning and playing in a “wild urban” setting.
Explore the woods while learning to camouflage yourself into your environment. Blend in with the forest flora while scouting and hiding from the other tribes! Enjoy scavenger hunts, blindfold drum stalks, and sneaking through the forest like a coyote. Learn the nature of a PNW scout while diving deep into nature connection.
